Going Green in Ocean Township
The Shade Tree Commission and the Environmental Commission of Ocean Township are sponsoring a panel discussion about how to keep shade trees healthy. The event, Going Green, is Sat., March 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about current threats, challenges and dangers to shade trees native to this area as well as the importance of maintaining healthy shade trees. Expert panelists will provide the latest information on simple ways to protect trees and increase their life-span. There will be a children’s craft from 11:15 a.m. to noon which is open to all ages.
Light refreshments will be served. The program is free and open to the public. Registration is requested by Feb. 27 via the library’ s calendar of events at www.monmouthcountylib.org or by contacting the library at 732.531.5092.
